Il supporte trs bien le froid et son port est plus rig et lanc que le cdre du Liban. Ses aiguilles son bleutes, ses branches sont ascendantes et plus courtes que celles des autres cdres ; son corce est gris clair et se craqule en vieillissant ; ses cnes font 6 cm de long, avec un petit creux au centre.
