Lignum-Vitae Modernist Table Sculpture by Clark Fitz-GeraldA unique, hand hewn sculpture of solid ironwood (lignum vitae) mounted on a wedge shaped wooden plinth base via threaded rod. The sculpture is formed from a large, single section of lignum vitae, the outermost exterior ring of sapwood being lighter in color standing in relief and partially carved away allowing contrasting and discernible sections which were then chip carved to provide texture to the hollowed sections.
